The Ministry of Energy is working behind the scene to ensure reduction of tariffs paid by consumers. This move forms part of new interventions by the government geared towards helping to bring relief to the citizenry.
The Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko, speaking at a conference in the Cape Coast in the Central Region said : “We are seriously working to reduce the power tariffs in the country so that the burden on power users would be lessened. We promised you that we shall stop the power cuts.
“Within some few months in political office, we have fulfilled our promise by stopping the ‘dumsor’, which destroyed businesses.
“I am also telling you today that we shall surely reduce power tariffs in the country very soon and it shall indeed come to pass.”
He added: “We are working and our target is to ensure that by the close of 2017, there will be stability in the power supply of the country.”
